Missing Home

Completed on September 29, 2017. This drawing is to thank all of the veterans and current soldiers who have risked or are risking their lives so that we can live comfortably at home. This soldier’s shoulder patch of an American flag is also a book; his story. On the left side of the book is the soldier’s portrait. He’s tearing up from the things he left behind, which is presented by the right side of the book. The top two figures are his kids laying on top of his house. Below the house is his wife sewing a quilt. To her right is a cross which represents how he misses his church. Last but not least is his dog in the bottom right corner with a ball on his nose. When you leave home it’s often the simple everyday things that you miss the most.
