Logo design for JCDL 2020 (accepted by client)

The School of Information Management (iSchool) at Wuhan University hires me to design a logo for the Joint Conference on Digital Library (JCDL) 2020, which is to be host at Wuhan University.

This design is the one chosen by my client, I also made a lighter version (https://dribbble.com/shots/6502450-Logo-design-for-JCDL-2020-accepted-by-client).

I applied '气韵设计', a design style that derives from Chi (气, or 氣). It's a bit hard to describe in English; I'll put my rationale in Chinese here for now, and later I'll explain it in English.

Logo造型运用传承中国国画的「气韵设计」。融入樱顶老图书馆剪影，在建筑物正中央，将古典窗棂艺术抽象为上下两排的网格，将会议英文缩写「JCDL」与代表年份的数字「2020」安置其中，与窗棂剪影共处画面之「亥位」。外轮廓以重叠的双圆周环绕，象征圆满与突破，亦使整个logo设计疏密相间，气韵贯通。
