Fitting In

Completed on December 21, 2017. The center bottle is curved and dented in; representing how some popular people use one’s imperfections to cast them out. On this bottle is a blank label which symbolizes the people who don’t have an identity. The other bottles are labeled, pop: short for popular and also ties in the fact that they’re soda bottles. They fit into the slots perfectly. Inside of the bottles have different amounts of soda, this represents how much people have to say but is kept inside. On top of the pop bottles and inside of the curved bottle are sour patch kids. These sour patch kids are the people’s inner voice. The pop bottles aren’t afraid to speak up but the beaten bottle doesn’t have the courage to voice its opinion. Finally, caving in on the center bottle are lollipops: the anxieties of life.
