AiGA DC_Cinco De Mayo_ 2019

For the third year in a row, I got the opportunity to design and share a Cinco de Mayo design with AIGA in DC. With the assistance of animator, @Lorin Schaecher I was able to create a digital piece for something more impactful.

This years approach was to keep it simple. I learned that soon after the victory of Puebla Americans of Mexican Heritage used the day as inspiration for the Union Struggle in the Civil War. With Mexico gathering 2,000 ragtag band of troops, were able to defeat the 6,000 French soldiers, by killing 500 and Mexico only losing 100. Cinco de Mayo in the United States is mostly shared as motivational or "hype" to inspire others when the possibilities may look small.
