Find Peace
Life isn’t like the movies. There isn’t always closure, things sometimes don’t work out in the end, and for the most part, life isn’t fair. Whatever has happened though will forever be written in the story that is your life, and you either grow or wither from it. At the end of the day, it’s about attitude and what you do with the things that happened to you. In 2015, I had some of that happen, and I was lost. There was no closure, there was no signs of healing, there wasn’t a happy ending in sight. But I found art, I found my people, and I found that if the world wrongs you, the only method to fight back that causes true change is to be the difference in the world you want to see. Find your peace that way. Be better than who you were, do better than the people who wronged you, and seed peace wherever you go and inside yourself. As cheesy as that sounds, it’s so true, and this piece is very personal to me in that way. This work was heavily influenced by Dard Hunter, an incredibly talented artist who worked with Roycroft and was a visionary in the Arts and Crafts movement.
