Healthcare Mark Color Version
Like many of you, I don't just design because I was hired for a project. I design for the love of it. It sounds like an old sports movie cliche, but in all honesty, it's my reality. This is a colored version of a mark I posted back in January, but originally posted on the web over 4 years ago.
I try not to actively look for my work being stolen. I guess for me it's out of sight, out of mind. So when I stumble upon my work (this design for example) and concepts being posted on crowdsourcing websites, it's beyond discouraging. Seeing others monetize off of that work is even more painful. Even when it's just "for fun" projects, there are things you don't see that go into all of our work. It's the years of practicing our craft. It's the brainstorming and research time to see if ideas are unique. It's the sketching, the digitizing, the file exporting. It's the promoting on social. It's the hours taken away from our families as we work late into the night. It's all of the little sacrifices we make as designers to try and improve our skills and provide for our families.
I love posting my work on Dribbble and nothing will get me to stop sharing art with the world. But please, before you right click-save my work and try to monetize off of it, keep in mind everything I previously stated and understand what all went into that design. Maybe it was unintentional and maybe it wasn't. Regardless, our work is our work.
