In this series, I go behind the Photoshop Brush Magic! In this video, I talk about my original 'Impressionist Masters' Brush and Color Palette Collection, which I launched in 2016 and is inspired by the Masters of Impressionism and Post Impressionism! Stay tuned for big new releases ahead... 😎

As I am preparing for some VERY exciting new releases, I am finally doing some 'behind the scenes' videos about launching my color-blending brushes, which changed the game in Photoshop!

I’ve always been fascinated by the impressionists and their obsession with light, movement, the passage of time — all things ephemeral. The colors and motion of the brush strokes are just captivating. So back in 2016, by tweaking an overlooked tool in Photoshop, I was able to create a set of Photoshop brushes that could emulate this technique — with lots of brush strokes, colors side by side, blending and mixing in really interesting ways. JUST like the new technology of pre-mixed paints emboldened the original impressionists to develop this new style… i’ve used the technology of today to create a set of brushes that allows designers and illustrators of any level to just pick up and create similar effects in just seconds. They can pick up one of my brushes, pick one of my hundreds of pre-blended color palettes and paint a stroke and watch magic happen. It’s really fantastic! So for this original collection, I carefully and methodically sampled colors from some of the masters of impressionism and post impressionism… then organized them according to color so that anyone can literally pick up a photoshop brush and paint in the colors of Monet, Van Gogh, Renoir, Degas and more… I am really proud to say that both with both the impressionist brushes and the wet paint studio, I was able to put out into the market something that hadn’t really been seen yet, and translate techniques I developed into a turnkey solution for so many of my fellow designers and illustrators. It’s really amazing to see fellow creators put these brushes to use in their modern work, whether it’s illustration, branding, web design, editorial, pattern making, or print design such as cards and invitations.
