The Beijing Opera "Eighteen Arhats Fighting Wukong" tells us that after Sun Wukong made a great disturbance in the Heavenly Palace, the Jade Emperor sent 100,000 divine soldiers to follow and capture Wukong. They were not enemies of Wukong, but sent Erlang God to help fight. Emperor Tai Shang overthrew Wukong with diamond chisel and captured Wukong to the heavens. He could not hurt anything with his knife, axe and chisel, but put it into the furnace of Lao Jun to burn. Wukong was refined into a golden eye, jumping out of the oven to tease Laojun. The Tathagata Buddha sent eighteen Arhats to fight fiercely with him, and finally captured Wukong.
