"Chew This" Food Waste Zine

This was a favorite project of mine from a few years ago. I worked with Carol Sogard from the University of Utah and created a zine all about food waste. My goal was to make something fun and interesting to get people to stop and read about this important issue. Creating this zine also changed many of my own wasteful habits.

The Zines were packaged in a transparent envelope with several fun extras I also created. "Bite Size Tips" trading cards show actionable steps you can take to minimize waste and a button or two created from actual trash serves as a fun reminder. Trash was collected over several months/weeks and photographed for the zine and trading cards.

Zine was sold in several shops all over the country and also mailed to specific individuals to raise food waste awareness.
