Technological fossil layers

As we are brainstorming for what is the next generation of technology, and what innovations we will be designing in the years to come, I can't help but be reminded of where we were not too long ago. Everything we interact with on a day-to-day basis has come such a long way from the tools and forms of technology that have come before it. So the idea of fossil layers inspired me to remember those days we would have to rewind VHS tapes.
