Happy Sinhala and Hindu New Year !

Sinhala and Hindu New Year is a major Sri Lankan event that celebrates the traditional New Year of the Sinhala and Tamil people, to celebrate and to show the bond between two different communities. This New Year which is known as ‘Aluth Avurudha’ in Sinhala and ‘Puththandu’ in Tamil is celebrated by both communities through various rituals and customs.

One of a @Google doodle should be dedicated to this event as they dedicate a doodle for Sri Lankan Independents Day.
