Jerry Shepherd - Logo Concepts

Recently got assigned to create the Logotype for Jerry Shepherd, a luxury fashion brand company. My main focus when brainstorming concepts (i will share the sketches on instastory this week) was to create an elegant monogram with the letters JS.

These two concepts where the best ones amongst the many possible choices, now, i am leaning towards the top one not only because of it's balance but also because it resembles but also because it resembles a sewing thread. The client is leaning towards the bottom one because it's the most solid one on his opinion.

Can you help us decide which one to move forward with?
