Daily logo challenge - Day 20 - Pikake Park alternate design

For day 20 I designed this alternative logo for "Pikake National Park". As I wasn't 100% certain about the use of a badge design for this logo I wanted to also pull back to something a little more simple, to this end I designed this alternate.

I took the pikake that was small on my original and made it the central focus of the piece. I reduced my font to 1 type and put a 2 tone logo and on a white field. This logo is more minimal so it can much easier function in a range of different use cases while still communicating a nature-based business.
