When we first launched our iOS widget, allowing users to access emergency help without needing to unlock their phone (yes!), the number of accidental alarms triggered by users increased by more than 15% (no!)

It turns out easy access isn't always ideal for your users or your business.

So, using the Show More/Show Less pattern of iOS 8 and beyond, we introduced a necessary second step - kind of like the safety on a weapon.

A user can now choose if they'd like to keep their panic button locked or unlocked. And they can still access emergency help at lightning speed.

Not to mention this "Show More to unlock" solution fixed a usability issue seen later in the experience when users attempted to cancel their alarm on a collapsed window.

Since releasing this fix, accidental alarms have gone back down 16-17%, and our customers are more empowered than ever.
