Overlapping cards

Random draft design for a client.

For usability we will probably add buttons on the sides with little arrows. I prefer this clean and simple version.. But clicking on half cards to navigate might not be clear to everybody.

What do you think?
Any examples of navigation in horizontal sliders and carousels without buttons are very welcome :D
