The Hell Gate Bridge

Another shot of a poster I made for a series I called Optichemology.

For this part of the series I was really looking to learn more about grids so took a more typical approach to the A3 posters with large type.

This poster is about my favorite bridge, The Hell Gate bridge located in Astoria New York City and completed in 1917. At the time it was the largest steel arch bridge in the world. Its design and success later served as the inspiration for the Sydney Harbour Bridge in New South Wales, Australia.
