Monarch Butterfly Interpretive Sign

One of ~13 interpretive signs for a new trail system. I've been going for a retro national parks/jellystone vibe - something thats inviting to kids and reminiscent for parents. This particular sign will accompany one of the main attractions of the whole trail system, and I think I may be over analyzing it.

I equally love and hate it. Parts of it feel EXACTLY the way I want to whole design system to look and yet in its entirety I feel like it's disjointed, cluttered, messy, and amateur. I'm moving on to other panels for now, but feedback would be GREATLY appreciated.
