Camera Picker Interaction

This camera picker exploration concept has a so-called forcing function. Don Norman (“The Design of Everyday Things”) wrote that this type of function restricts a user behavior and makes them do something in a certain way for their good to prevent errors. In this case, this interaction allows a user to shift items in the picker only by one. It can be used when you have heavy loaded/initialized assets for each item. A linear interaction with the picker allows you to load all data in an item sequence and avoid a user’s waiting-for-loading/initializing experience.

Sure, you can also swipe to switch an item.
