Retiring in style

When a clients family engaged us to design his retirement motif we jumped at the chance to see him out in style with an illustrated crest.

Stuart Falla's daughters wanted to surprise their father with a retirement party he wouldn't forget. The emblem was to be called 'Topping Out' - a term used at the completion of a building project, repurposed here to symbolise the closure of 50 years in construction.

With etched glasses and other printed items on the cards, we were assigned to encapsulate Stuarts career and family in a crest that would have eloquent flourishes and detail while being robust enough to hold up in small sizes as a single colour.

Surrounded by five lionesses representing the woman in his life, the shield divides itself into nationalism, personal achievements and of course a career in construction.
