Rae Stone Identity
Katrina and I had just finished branding one of our favorite up and coming painters. We set out to give her an identity that was as energetic, sophisticated, and edgy in its visual language as her body of work. This is a few of our favorites pieces from the deck. The mark is made from combining the R and the S of her monogram in one single, fluid brush stroke. The rest of the forms are sharp and exact, which pushes the contrast between the forms in this simple mark. The edges of the S create an implied frame that is being broken by the stroke, and the hidden number one implies that each piece is first-rate quality and unique/individual.
