The purpose of this dissertation was to investigate about the representation of human memories with the evolution of digital technologies in everyday life.
In this context, research areas of cognitive psychology, technology, sociology and culture were examinated.
I have relied on articles, websites and books but also on some personal tools (one week’s digital discussion with twenty people, a quantitative survey and a meeting with a biographer).
Digital supports help users to prioritize and develop their memories through stories enacted. That stories can be told individually or collectively.
Collective memories’ construction is easier and faster thanks to digital, thus promoting the sharing of experiences.
At the same time, the easy dissemination of information on the network also raises issues of the protection of privacy.
