PS4: Flow Update & Refresh

Unsolicited redesigns, in my opinion, are a waste of everyone's time. It's very easy to "update" UI and call it a refresh but without trying to fix UX problems it's just not worth it. For this update, I really wanted to solve key navigation problems.

As much as I love having my decisions driven by data these are my own personal feelings and friends input. As a group, we felt the navigation is slow, clunky, and disjointed. This update is a hopefully ROI positive wishlist from long-time users.

Navigation was improved by simplifying the "game feed" by sectioning it into Games/Apps and toggled using R1. The tool section was moved from hidden above to visible below. We also added in small points of data. Controllers battery life, which controller is connected, and wifi connection speed. (I am unsure of the validity of this ask) Lastly, I created a pattern (top left) called the active tab. Making it much easier to move between recent active screens and applications.

*My Thoughts*
This small project was more very daunting. Often getting thoughts like "They have a huge team working this stuff out. Whatever you will attempt to solve they've already tested and moved past." Even if this is true I have to remember that this is all about learning, growing, and having fun. I am glad I pushed through and put the time in. This was also my first time designing for a TV & Controller - feels good!
