We are physicians in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. We are starting a new program within our department to focus on Aerospace Medicine, which is the care of people in aviation and spaceflight environments.

We conduct research in this arena, and have also started an innovative simulation course where we teach aerospace medicine to groups of medical professionals living in a simulated Mars environment in the Utah desert (See https://wms.org/conferences/mars/ for information on this course and an NBC News story here: https://www.nbcnews.com/nightly-new…1?v=raila& ).
