Well, in my experience the best conversions to catch user's contacts were always when you give something useful: free item, discount, valuable info (free annual analytics e.g.) or content. In an exchange on essential something, people give their data easier.
I made a primitive pop-up to offer a free product in exchange on phone number for the first order.
