Daily Logo Challenge - Day 16 - Read Fox

For day 16 I had to make a logo for a company called Read Fox.

I wanted to give the impression of the fox's face in the binding of a book, I had a lot of trouble getting this to work in a way I was happy with but I think I finally cracked it with the thick stroke.

For the typography, I wanted to give the impression of something that has a tactile feel and is less explicitly digital so a slab serif seemed like the perfect middle ground between a serif and a geometric.
