New York

At the end of February 2013, I did wake up in a city that never sleeps. Not even once. Five times! Yay! 🎉

At least that's how I expected my first and only trip to America to be. Unfortunately, it wasn't "Yay" every day. There were quite a few "Nay"s when my very first taxi experience resulted in losing 250$ instead of 50$, making me skip visits to several museums. Or when I had to rush to Newark from JFK, barely making it home in time 🙈

I did make it home in time 💪🏻 Just as I did have tons of cool impressions despite having to aggressively save money. I skyped with my parents from "Top of the Rock", drooled over pretty much everything at MoMA, walked around Manhattan by foot, had cream cheese donuts for breakfast, spotted a bunch of amazing graffiti, calculated BMI of local squirrels and (!!!) used only paper map for navigation.

Honestly though, I didn't do even 50% of all the things I planned. Traveling alone as a student is tough and in a way romantic but I truly hope to get back there with my husband to be and complete the long list of wants 🤞🏻
