Dada typography

This is a side project that explores the experimental typography of the Dada art movement. Many of these artists continue to influence graphic design and type today.

The letterforms in this piece are from various Dada works using type. Appropriation was a core ideal of Dada artists, most of whom cut type and photos from newspapers and print advertising of the 1920s. Other artists used wood-block printing to create interesting, but often nonsensical, typographic arrangements.
