One tribe, One symbol: D3 Logo

We have a new and growing team and we have a new team logo to reflect diverse viewpoints and values. Here's a short write-up : )

ONE TRIBE ONE SYMBOL
We were interested in creating a mark that covered the longitude and latitude of our outlook as a design collective. We did a number of iterations, some of which are attached. The final logo was chosen by the entire team.

The intent behind the logo:
A dynamic is formed as three dimenisonal forms play off of one another. There’s a multi-directional emphasis with two of the forms facing one way and the other facing the opposite direction. This directionality alludes to diverse points of view. The modularity of this mark lends itself to a riot of color and movement. In a play of shapes, you can see these forms as the ubiquitous coding brackets, a subtle reference to dev tools. Another thing you might notice is that the overall form looks like a lowercase ‘d’.

The final logo shown here was designed by @Marco Doelling and the whole process was worked on collaboratively by @Don Baker Creative @Cherry Wang and @Shravan Rajagopal
