Ninja III: The Domination is the kind of movie you hope you're going to find when you sit down to watch some 80’s video store fodder; A silly, violent, exuberant, absurd, trendy mess. Ninja III is what stuff like Blood Dragon and Turbo Kid are trying to capture. It might be the most 80’s a movie can be, combining a workout/dance video with a Ninja movie, and an exorcist-style demon possession flick. It stars Lucinda dicky who was fresh off filming the surprisingly successful Breakin’. Cannon wanted to capitalize on her "star-making" performance and so Ninja III and Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo were both rushed into production(all 3 films were released the same year). Everything in this movie seems to be solely dictated by whatever the production company perceived as trendy. The result of this kitchen sink-style film making is how you get an opening action scene where a super-powered ninja fights off a few police helicopters on a golf course. Ninja III also co-stars B-movie action star Sho Kasugi who shows up to do some cool Ninja stuff and engage in some legitimately cool fight scenes. I really don’t know what else to say about this movie, it rules. If you’ve been burnt before by so-bad-it’s-good movies, fear not! Ninja III: The Domination is fast-moving and packed to the brim with crazy nonsense.
