Leap | Smart Spaces

Leap is a smart home automation system which is specifically designed for people with physical disabilities. It focuses on providing handicapped users the opportunity to be self-sufficient in their own living environment. Leap enhances the quality of life and self-esteem through making use of necessary adaptive tools and smart technology integrations.

The users can move easily and freely in their wheelchairs via the use of proximity sensors to open doors. The proximity sensors are located above each door so when the user approaches a room the doors will automatically open for them creating a seamless interaction with the apartment.

The smart apartment also has an interactive kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom area. Users can control their apartment through simple voice commands to achieve tasks in the kitchen area as well as the bedroom and bathroom area. They can control elements with a quick voice command such as closing curtains, switching on lights in a room, adjusting the cooktop or even washing basin in the bathroom.
