HeadKeeper app concept
HeadKeeper - IoT app design - Result of a test task I was asked to do last year.
📋 Brief
The main goal of this app is the elimination of potential damage from household appliances in a smart home. Did I turn off the iron? Did take the wallet? Did my daughter turned off the heater in her room?

👩🏼💼 Target audience
Families and individuals age 25–40 with a positive attitude to IT and gadgets.

💡 My solution
For using the full potential of the app I suggested integration with various smart gadgets like contact sensors, thermostats and others. In this way the reminders can be fully automatic.
Another reason for this integration is the potential damage from household appliances. For example if I want to be notified to turn off the iron, I couldn’t set it for specific time, because I’m not ironing always at the same time. I would need some gadget that would tell the app that the iron is ON and after some time it remains still it could remind me to turn it off.
The reminders would also contain:
1 - Conditions: when is the reminder active? For example dependency on weather, location of a family member (for example someone has left the flat), or a specific time range.
2 - Time when the reminder is active: for example it will only trigger on weekdays.

🙌 Usage examples
1 - Don’t forget your keys, mobile and wallet: Place the sensor at the main door, then connect it in the app. Now the reminder will trigger only when you’re leaving the door. To make it more efficient, set a condition to trigger this only on weekdays and/or in a specific time range.
2- Close windows: I want to be reminded to close windows when I’m leaving the flat. Connect the app with a sensor at the door. Then set the weather condition to trigger reminder only if the forecast for the day is bad (windy, rain, thunderstorm…).
