Annihilation

I recently watched Annihilation a second time and felt inspired to make this. After seeing it the first time as a sci-fi story, on a second viewing I focused on Area X as a metaphor for depression and was caught off guard by how affecting it is. It perfectly encapsulates our relationships to our darker nature.

I created this with a plan for how it might look, but as I became more immersed in the project, my curiosity took me down different paths and I experimented more and more until I had a weird mutation of my original idea. I thought it was fitting, and chose to stay with it.
