Next up in my #DrawnToToronto series is Kensington Market. For this one I wanted to capture the colorful artistic chaos that is the Market. Victorian homes, cafes, restaurants, vintage clothing shops, grocers and people all come together in this bohemian area. Artists, writers, potheads and people from many different cultures all live and work in and around the Kensington area making for some great people watching.

My usual market routine is to grab a Pupusa to eat at the Latin America Emporium, a fresh juice at one of the fruit vendors, wander around some of the vintage stores and then pick up a box of Jamaican doubles from Patty King on my way home.

Especially fun are the pedestrian Sundays (last Sunday of the month May-Oct) where the streets close to vehicle traffic and the vendors set up outside their shops. Kensington is located between College and Dundas, Bathurst and Spadina.
