Anno Domini Postcard
The design for this 21st-century calendar was inspired by a 13th-century psalter from Augsburg, Germany that I saw in the Spencer Collection at the New York Public Library. A psalter is a book with readings from the Psalms and a liturgical calendar to guide its reader through the rhythm of a year. I sent this calendar postcard, marked with the new and full moons of each month, to friends far and wide. The original was illustrated with gouache on cold press paper 🌙
