Material Exploration

Typography is a game, best played off-screen!

- PLAYING WITH NEGATIVE SPACE
The brief here was to experiment (material exploration)and come up with original TYPEFACES. My experiment was with Bulbs and its Reflections. I first painted a bulb black and then scraped of a portion of the paint to form an alphabet.

- PHOTOGRAPHY TO THE RESCUE
Next step was to photograph the alphabet reflections on a plain surface while playing with distance and different angles Photos were taken in different angles and perspectives. This formed the basis to my experiment.

- FINALSTEP
Create a typeface from the photographs. (Software used-Adobe Illustrator)
