Poster design for a short film- "Undertow"

This is a graphic design work I did for a short film called ”Undertow”. Directed & written by a Canadian artist Carman Ho.

“Undertow” is a strong undercurrent flowing in a different direction from the surface current. It looks calm on the surface, but underneath it generates strong flow which can pull people down to the bottom of the water. In this film, “undertow” is a metaphor for the mental state of people who suffers from depression: The main character Emily couldn't get through the grief over the loss of her loved one, she lived a life in despair. She was stuck in the past where they're still together. Old memories kept flooding back like undertow, dragging Emily deeper every time into sorrow.
