Continuous Blood Glucose Monitor - Full Screen Status Updates
During the design process, we had to create different levels of notifications to help users understand the state of their pod, blood glucose readings, and recommendations. This system of notifications and prompts lead us to develop a hierarchy of information and designing out a wide range of alerts and icons to go with the statuses. System-level connection and pod communications either during setup or a normal days wear usually ended up at the highest priority level.
The pod that was connected to their arm communicated with the phone via Bluetooth. It would share it's charge level, connection, and various other elements with the phone. The two status items we have displayed here is if the pod was already connected to another device which would let you know to remove it. In the future, this wouldn't be needed since the pod would eventually allow you to connect regardless. The second is if for some reason the app couldn't connect to the network since the calculations were being done via the cloud. That situation would stop the app from displaying updated information.
This is just two examples of the full-screen status message, we'll have more to share in the future.
Thanks for taking a look.
