QAGOMA APT9 - The Hub
QAGOMA APT9 - The Hub
Partnering with Queensland Art Gallery Of Modern Art, myself and the team at JSAcreative won the opportunity of delivering an immersive interactive experience to compliment The 9th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT9) exhibition, running from 24 Nov 2018 - 28 Apr 2019.
Diving head-first into workshops and conceptualising creative solutions, the insight we discovered and leveraged was the notion that "people know the art they love, but don't know why they love it". This idea is that people are drawn to a particular colour, style, medium or artist, but rarely dive deeper into discovering similar art to the art they love.
Being shown on over fifty 55" touchscreens on-site at the QAGOMA APT9 exhibition for 4 months, the experience puts "YOU" at the centre of a data visualisation interface, with each artist being represented by a triangle. As you explore, users discover the type of art they "love" by filtering key categories and styles, drawing those artist triangles closer to "YOU", while building their own custom itinerary. Users can also take a quiz and be served suggested itineraries for their visit.
