Tah Duck - Britishisms Project

Next instalment of my #britishisms project. This one is quite close to my heart as it’s an East Midlands regional saying “Tah Duck”.
It means
Thanks = (Tah)
Friend = (duck)
This saying has roots dating back to medieval times and people would greet the dukes (duck) in an expression of respect, over the years it has become a way of saying hello to a friend or acquaintance. Tah is a regional way of saying “thanks”, no idea on its roots, however.
