Postcard for Refugees Welcome
Me and my creative partner were asked to create a special postcard for Refugees Welcome, a NGO that helps refugees find families willing to host them. The postcard was featured in a campaign called "Solo in Cartolina", in which 10k illustrated postcards were sent to italian vice prime minister Matteo Salvini to protest against his xenophobe policy and culture of fear.
The concept behind the illustration was based on a quote from Italo Calvino Invisible Cities that we found great to express about how the influence from far away countries can be a powerful enrichment to our land and our culture. We started from the idea of "flowers from other lands" and the depicted an enlarged family sitting on a couch, in a welcoming environment, sorrounded by luxuriant inflorescences, used as a metaphor for a culturally prosperous society.
