Illustration for Médecins sans frontières / Worthwearing

Illustration created for Médecins sans frontières as part of their #Umani campaign promoted via Worthwearing.org.
The NGO produced a collection of t-shirt, each one featuring a quote by a famous italian writer, brought to life by an italian illustrator or comic artist.
I had to depict this quote by noir writer Carlo Lucarelli:

"If you get to know what used to scare you, you may realise that there was nothing to be scared of"

I designed a mysterious ritual mask as a symbol of a distant cultures that may seem scary or even dangerous to some people; but if they get to know it better, the may realise that behind the mask there is a cheerful kid, or a human being. Different doesn't mean dangerous.
