UI Design Calendarit
ROLE
Visual Designer, UI/UX Designer, Branding Strategist
FOCUS
Working alongside Enola Labs, our client Calendarit discovered a common problem among lawyers and paralegal across the nation—no one had a streamlined process or tool for calculating deadlines. Missed deadlines is the number one cause of malpractice claims. Our job was to develop that tool.
As a new company Calendarit needed branding, logo design, visual identity, and a marketing website to support the web application.
APPROACH
We started the project off by understanding how law works and how deadlines are calculated. Each and every case has a set of deadlines. Those deadlines trigger another set of deadlines. We had to consider state laws as well as federal laws and national holidays vs local holidays. Once we understood what main functions the web app to should perform, user research was conducted. We scoped which featured were crucial for functionality and which features would provide the most user satisfaction. Daily standup meetings were held with Enola labs and our client Calendarit to work in an agile environment. Designs were created and improved upon based on feedback and testing out functions.
Visually we wanted the look and feel of the branding to be clean, approachable, and professional. The legal market was a bit of an older crowd and the process for filing case deadlines is rather old school and manual. We wanted to make sure the app was as user friendly as possible. We decided on a red, yellow, and green color scheme to signal to the user when deadlines were approaching. This color theory helped the overall experience.
RESULT
The branding, visual, wireframing, prototyping and high fidelity UI comps for Calendarit are finalized. The project is currently is in the hands of Enola Lab’s development team. As soon as the database is complete the website application and company will launch.
