秋/qiū/: autumn; fall

Hey everyone, we are going to talk about 秋(fall；autumn) today! Summer has gone. Fall is the harvest time. We have known 禾(grain plants) from yesterday's post. In the fall, the grains/plants are ready to be harvested. In old times, Chinese farmers would burn the plant stalks/ straws after they got the grains out of them. (Still happening in some areas) It's fall when that happens. So, the character 秋 = 禾(when they're dry, became yellow) + 火(fire, we have mentioned this character many times before, you should know it ☺️).
