Travel

Illustration done as a part of a print exchange program called 'DBKA' under the title of Travel.

I chose to illustrate the theme to reflect the journey of a nation - India. The seven cars (from bottom) represent the seven decades since independence (1947, one per decade since) and the rise of the nation, with the current decade acting as the engine.

The splatter in couple cars reflect the tough times and light in others reflect the turning moments in the pages of the history.

The initial sketch was in paper using brush-pen and Copic markers and then digitally edited in Photoshop. The final edit was printed on a 12X18 inches silver metallic paper.
