Figure Skater

I created a series of nostalgic and abstract illustrations for a personal project, inspired by Italian advertising design of the 1920s.

I used block colours, gradients and custom shapes with an intention to use as few lines as possible to (hopefully) create an iconic style.

Again, I started this with a freeform shape. It's the same core shape as my "Slalom" illustration, but I tried rotating it slightly and was instantly reminded of the elegant downward shape of a figure skater. No need to add any surroundings here - ice and sky seemed sufficient!
