Logo for a blog I've started, Gaming Experience Design, in which I write about design decisions I find interesting within video games.

For this logo, I wanted to avoid using trite gamer symbology such as controllers or retro design. I am attempting a more academic tone with the blog, so I wanted a logo that was similarly mature.

The pink color was stumbled upon by typing "gxd" into the hex field within Sketch (which corrects to #FF67DD). I generally like designing with pink and enjoy challenging myself to use the color in a non-gendered way.

For font, I initially tried creating my own, but it came out a bit too angular - I wanted softer curves to distance myself from the 'hardcore' tone of most gaming-adjacent things.

Shadowing was added to the text to add some depth, making the design look slightly less simplistic.
