The Donestre

I put together this piece for the SVS Learn monthly prompt which for October was “misunderstood monster.” This was my first time composing and painting a full background. I also really struggle with creating rocks with structure and form so I feel like this cave was a huge challenge for me. This guy is called a Donestre. Donestre are lion/human hybrids with the ability to speak in every language on earth. They lure foreign travelers away from their groups with pleasant conversations in a familiar language, then devour their body, saving the head so they can mourn over their terrible deeds. Donestre are known for being eternally guilty and self-loathing.
