Slider concept

It's getting hot in Australia so naturally I start dreaming of snowy mountains.

I wanted to play with a bordered layout. I really enjoy the layering of this. Pairing the boxes with the sweeping moving and rolling text, I think it creates a nice balance of complexity and simplicity. Wouldn't mind adding a little micro animation to the arrows when tapped—think that would add a nice additional element. Thoughts?!

PS. Anyone got any helpful hits on smoothing out gifs?
