Irish Red Ale

About the Beer: Mention Irish beer on this side of the pond and most of us will automatically think of dark stouts like Guinness. But the country has a long tradition with another, very different kind of beer as well: the Irish Red Ale. Irish ales are malty, smooth, medium-bodied, and most are a deep copper-red color that is created by a blend of specialty malts. This particular Red is bittered with English Style East Kent Golding while its signature biscuit-like malt character is provided by it’s base of UK Avanagard and Roasted Barley. Though perhaps it’s most defining characteristic is this beers shear drinkability — definitely a crowd-pleasing beer no matter where you hail from.
