The Framework - Book Cover Design

Creative direction, branding, illustration, and collateral I designed for my friend Andrew to launch his first book, "The Framework." He really wanted to capture the parable of the house on the sand vs. the house on the rock in the cover of the book, while keeping a very hand made personal feel.

Sketching the sand and the waves with the same ripple, using the colors to flip flop from front to back to give a super strong immediate visual message, and the lettering really tied everything together for a bold and personal message. We used water color paper with black ink to establish a texture palette to give it a physically worn feel.
